Lafayette, Indiana.

Lafayette is the county seat of Tippecanoe County and is located in west central Indiana. It was founded in 1825 and now has a population of about 86,000 in its metropolitan area (Lafayette 56,000; West Lafayette 29,000) which includes the city of West Lafayette and the towns of Dayton and Elston. The city contains a number of industries including Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA), ALCOA, A. E. Staley & Co., Siemens (formerly Landis & Gyr, originally Duncan Meter Co.), and Wabash National Corp. Downtown Lafayette is known for its historic atmosphere as well as the many cultural resources, commerical establisments, and dining options available.
