Works of C. A. Wallingford, Architect, Indianapolis, Indiana
Charles Augustus Wallingford (1854-1909) was trained in the architectural office of Edwin May, one of the most prominent architects in Indiana (later designer of the State House). Wallingford practiced architecture in Indianapolis, Indiana from about 1876-1885. He joined the firm of Hodgson, Wallingford & Stem, and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, with his business partners in the mid-1880s. The firm disolved a few years later and Wallingford practiced in partnership with Edgar Hodgson in St. Paul for several years. He returned to Indianapolis in 1896 and designed many noted buildings before his death in 1909.
